Mathue Tapper
Program Director
Coach Mathue Tapper began his coaching career in 2016 after earning a Bachelor’s in Sports Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica. He started his career at Covenant Christian Academy, where he also taught Physical Education, before honing his skills at Richmond Park Prep. He later joined Immaculate Conception High School’s emerging "Wolves" team and now serves as the head coach at St. Andrew High School. The year 2026 will mark 10 years as a coach.
Coach Tapper gained recognition for coaching the first English-speaking Caribbean athlete to win an Olympic medal in the 100m hurdles at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Believing in the importance of strong foundations and grassroots athletics, he founded Tapp Track Academy (TTA) to develop the next generation of elite athletes.

Geovanni Johnson

Mr. Geovanni Johnson is the Athletics Coach at Waterford Primary School, where he has made a meaningful impact on the development of young athletes. Through structured training, encouragement, and consistent mentorship, he has helped many students to improve their athletic abilities while building confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship.
A former athlete himself, Mr. Johnson brings valuable firsthand experience to his coaching.
In addition to his role as an athletics coach, Mr. Johnson is a certified football referee and a fitness trainer. These qualifications strengthen his coaching practice, as he emphasizes proper technique, physical conditioning, fair play, and respect for the rules of sport. His broad expertise supports the holistic development of students and promotes healthy, active lifestyles.
Mr. Johnson remains committed to fostering a positive and disciplined sporting culture at Waterford Primary School, encouraging students to strive for excellence both on and off the field.

Coach JO joined us ahead of the 2026 season as a Canadian former national youth sprinter. She has represented Canada at the Youth & Junior level.
As a coach , she joins us with a wealth of experience working with youth athletes. She has worked with the UBC Track and Field club in Vancouver, BC as well as at West Point Grey Academy again in Vancouver, Canada .
Coach Jo is passionate about sport development and athlete performance, she values structured training and guidance in shaping future athletes. She is committed to making a lasting impact in coaching and athlete development.

Oneil Malcolm

Oneil Malcolm is a senior coach at Tapp Track Academy. He currently serves as P.E Teacher and Coach at Avondale Prep School.
A former club track athlete with years of experience, Oneil has a deep passion for sports, particularly track and field. He finds fulfilment in helping young athletes unlocking their full potential and watching them excel.
Coach Malcolm is a World Athletics certified Level 1 Coach with a passion for the sprints. Under his guidance, several of his athletes have achieved remarkable success at the Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Prep School Championships.
Coach Malcolm believes in fostering strong connections with his athletes, engaging in meaningful conversations to empower and motivate them. He encourages them not only to train with purpose but also to develop a genuine love for the sport.
